A better Hacker News
Dark mode, faster loading, favicons, archive links and a few other things. The script and styles that load on HN come to about 30 KB, or 13 KB compressed. Your login and votes still work.
Why
Hacker News is fast and plain, this adds dark mode, prefetching and a few reading tools, while the site stays the same, so logging in, voting and commenting work as usual.
Make it yours
Almost everything is a setting: theme, page width, row spacing, which features run, and filters for users, domains and keywords. Open the gear in HN's header to change them.
What you get
- Light, dark and system themes in HN's own colors, with the same layout
- New comments marked when you reopen a story
- Thread tools, ignore users, and blocklists for domains and keywords
- Copy, archive.is and Wayback links on every story
- Favicons are on by default. They load from DuckDuckGo, which sees the domain of each story. You can turn them off in settings.
- Keyboard shortcuts:
